Upon our arrival, we noted that the location was quite busy, situated on a main road. However, to our surprise, we both enjoyed one of the best night's sleeps we've had in a while. Initially, we thought our time in Matale would just be a quick stop on our journey to Trincomalee, but it turned out to be much more comfortable than expected.

The owner is wonderful, and the staff are all friendly and genuinely kind. They assisted us with our tour to Riverstone and Knuckles Mountain. If you decide to go, I highly recommend asking for Shane—he's an incredible guy, super funny and helpful throughout the entire day! Very good experience overall.

We were pleasantly surprised by the level of service we received. Kishor, our amazing host, went above and beyond, even buying an ankle support for a member of our group who was injured. He shared his insights openly and kept us well taken care of throughout our visit.

After a long day of traveling back from Ella by train, we chose to spend the night in Matale before heading North in the morning. However, after meeting our host and learning more about Matale, we felt compelled to extend our stay for an additional night.

I was really pleased with the rooms, but the service left much to be desired. We were told that dinner, lunch, and breakfast would be arranged as we requested, but upon arrival, we learned we had to handle the food ourselves. It seemed like we received less attention because we booked the cheaper rooms, while those in pricier accommodations were treated better. Even though we were paying customers, it felt like we weren't given the same level of service. Overall, the price was reasonable, but they really need to enhance their customer service.

We had a great time at A&B, conveniently located within walking distance to the main town. The rooms are roomy and spotless, equipped with everything necessary, including a hot water shower and fresh towels. There’s a kitchenette as well…

The rooms weren't clean and the bathroom facilities were subpar. The service was terrible. To make matters worse, we were scammed. When we made our reservation online, the owner stealthily transferred us to another property he owns called Henas, which is outdated and low-quality. They also claimed we could get meals from the hotel, but once we arrived, we were told that meals weren't provided at all. Overall, it was a pretty awful experience.
