Frequently asked

What's the highest-rated hair salons in Matara?
Salon Lavish is currently the highest-rated hair salons in Matara on Review Guru, with an average of 5.0 out of 5 stars from 11 reviews.
Which hair salons in Matara has the most reviews?
Salon Shiny is the most-reviewed hair salons in Matara with 13 customer reviews. A higher review count typically means a more reliable signal — a 4.5★ rating from 50 reviewers is stronger than a 5★ rating from 3.
How many hair salons are listed in Matara?
Review Guru has 11 hair salons listed in Matara, aggregating 99 customer reviews across them. We only include a business on a "best of" page once it has at least 3 reviews so the ranking is meaningful.
How are these hair salons ranked?
We use a Bayesian-weighted average score that combines the business's own star rating with the volume of reviews it has received. This prevents a single 5-star review from outranking 30 consistent 4-star reviews. Read more on our methodology page.
Are the reviews verified?
Reviews on Review Guru come from two sources: native submissions written directly on our platform, and imported reviews from Google Maps that we rewrite for clarity while preserving the original rating, sentiment, and named entities. Source is tagged on each review for transparency.
Do I need to book ahead at a Matara salon, or can I walk in for a haircut or colour?
A simple cut or beard trim can often be done on a walk-in basis, especially on weekdays. Reviewers of the men's salons listed here describe walking in for a cut, shave and head massage. Colour, keratin, rebonding and other chemical treatments take several hours, so call ahead and book a time. Weekends and the weeks before festivals and school events get busy. Phone numbers are on each listing below.
How far ahead should I book bridal hair and dressing in Matara?
Book as early as you can, ideally once the wedding or homecoming date is fixed. Popular dressers are limited by how many brides they can do in one morning, and auspicious dates fill up fast. Several salons listed here have reviews that mention wedding, bridal, engagement or convocation dressing, including Salon Hair Care, Salon Himaya With Beauty Brides Academy and Salon Lavish. Ask whether a trial is included, what time the dressing starts, and whether they will travel to your venue. Read the reviews on each listing before you pay a deposit.
