    Wonderful Stay at Layback Surf Camp

    I had a fantastic experience at Layback! Initially, I booked for a week but ended up extending my stay because I just didn't want to leave. This surf camp is locally owned, which is quite uncommon in this area. The entire team, from the surf instructors and reception staff to the café crew, is incredibly friendly and professional. You'll feel right at home as soon as you arrive! There are plenty of activities aside from surfing, so you'll find yourself busy throughout your entire visit! I created so many memories, made new friends, and improved my surfing skills during my time there 🤙 A huge thank you to the entire Layback team 🙏

    The atmosphere is exactly what you’d hope for in a surf camp—laid-back, sociable, and inviting. From the moment you arrive, it feels more like a community than just a place to stay. Many people refer to it as a "home away from home," and that description truly resonates. A standout feature is the surf coaching. Whether you’re a complete novice or have some experience, the instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to helping you improve. They also incorporate video analysis and theory sessions, which significantly enhance your progress. I also appreciated the variety of activities offered. It’s not solely about surfing—there’s daily yoga, social dinners, and optional events, ensuring you’re engaged without feeling overwhelmed. The accommodations and ambiance are commendable as well: clean, stylish rooms, relaxed common areas, and a rooftop café where you can unwind after a day of surfing. The entire place boasts a beautiful, laid-back vibe, all while being centrally located in Weligama, just a short walk from the beach. What truly sets Layback apart, however, is the people. Everyone is exceptionally friendly, making it easy to forge friendships, especially since guests typically stay for a week and progress together.

    Amazing Experience at Layback Surfcamp

    I truly enjoyed my week at Layback Surfcamp and couldn't have asked for a better time. From the start, I felt incredibly welcomed and at ease. This week offered me so much more than just surfing – I gained knowledge, built confidence, made new friends, and created unforgettable memories. The two daily surf sessions were instrumental in my progress, allowing me to grow more confident in the water each day. I also couldn't have asked for better surf coaches. A heartfelt thank you to Raash, Senu, Dasun, and Dilshan! 🫶🏻 They were wonderfully supportive, motivating, and patient, ensuring that each session was both enjoyable and empowering. Their encouragement greatly enhanced my experience. The entire Layback team was incredibly kind and inviting, making the camp feel like a little family. A special shout out to Manager Linda, who was always available and made sure everyone felt valued. And the food was absolutely scrumptious – something I genuinely looked forward to every day. Layback was a unique experience for me, and I'm leaving with immense gratitude, confidence, and lovely new connections. I wholeheartedly recommend it! 🫶🏻

    Great Surf Camp Experience

    I had an amazing time at this surf camp! Everything is very well organized, and a lot of attention has been given to the details. If you want to improve your surfing skills and connect with some wonderful people, Layback is definitely the place to be! Plus, the café offers fantastic food!

    Unforgettable Surfing Experience

    Layback Surfcamp was the highlight of my trip! I intended to stay for just a week, but I ended up extending my visit to three amazing weeks of surfing. A big part of this experience came from the fantastic instructors, Dilu and Charith, who taught me numerous new skills and helped me progress with each session. The camp was incredibly well organized, offering video analysis, theory lessons, surfskating, and yoga as part of the program. During my entire stay, the wonderful manager Linda and the excellent restaurant team took great care of us, serving delicious meals daily. I highly recommend Layback Surfcamp to anyone looking to enhance their surfing skills while having an unforgettable time in Weligama.

    Fantastic Surf and Yoga Experience

    I just spent two fantastic weeks at Layback and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The surf lessons were outstanding, thanks to the instructors who were patient, encouraging, and genuinely skilled at their craft. I made significant progress during my time there. I also really enjoyed the yoga classes; they were the perfect addition to my surfing routine and felt amazing after long hours in the water. The hotel itself is gorgeous, stylish, and has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The food was tasty, the staff were absolutely wonderful, and it feels great to support a local business. It's an ideal spot for a surf and yoga retreat in Sri Lanka 😍😍😍

    Great stay with friendly staff

    I really enjoyed my time at Layback. The staff is incredibly friendly and creates a relaxing vibe. The surf instructors are true professionals who genuinely want to see you improve. The video analysis proved to be very beneficial, and I found the theory sessions unexpectedly engaging, deepening my understanding of surfing. Even though yoga isn't typically my thing, I thought all the sessions were excellent! The food is fantastic and reasonably priced too. Plus, the cappuccinos are spot on! I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. Like several other guests who were there at the same time, I extended my visit because I had such a great experience!

    Fantastic experience at Layback Surfcamp

    I really enjoyed my time at Layback Surfcamp so much that I decided to extend my stay by an additional two weeks! The camp organizes different groups according to surf skill levels, ensuring that everyone receives coaching suited to their experience. The surf instructors are fantastic and provided me with numerous helpful tips tailored to my skill level, which significantly improved my surfing. I also liked that we occasionally explored various surf spots to find the best waves of the day. It's clear that everyone there truly cares about helping you grow and enjoy your time in the water. There are several video analysis sessions and theory lessons each week, both of which were extremely beneficial. The camp also features a variety of optional activities, such as daily yoga, a cooking class, a batik workshop, and even surf skating. Booking was a breeze, and everything was very well organized. The dorms and the entire camp were beautifully designed and kept immaculate. A standout feature is that the surfcamp has one of the best cafés in Weligama. The coffee and the family-style breakfast and dinner buffets were absolutely delightful. The location is excellent as well, making Weligama an ideal base for exploring other nearby spots along the south coast. What adds to the camp's charm is that it is locally owned, with a staff that is incredibly friendly. I would wholeheartedly recommend this camp and would love to return in the future.
