Decent cake for a birthday

I ordered a construction-themed cake for my son’s 3rd birthday, and it was beautifully crafted with precise details that matched the instructions and reference I provided. We were really pleased with the design. However, the cake's flavor was just okay—it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. We chose a rainbow cake flavor, but it was a bit dry. My husband, who is Russian, and I, being Indian, live in Sri Lanka now. We've sampled cakes from both our home countries, and in comparison, this one had a rather basic taste.
